Facilitator Post Training Discussion

Kia ora koutou e hoa ma (with a macron), Lets start the ball rolling; delighted in your faces, relished the korero, treasured your nuggets (gold or otherwise) , revered your knowledge, anticipate your solutions, ready to endorse the next stages to progress our passion and kaupapa Here's the beginning of my list I want to talk about - when I will have the time without sitting in pub to do so - I don't know, but I know Linley and Nige will have a list on the jamboard that will match some of mine. All good :)
  1.  PDs
  2. FMIC corrections and dealing with specific areas (haven't reflected on my experiences totally yet but ready to listen to others)
  3. Quality assurance for FM Services starts with quality training and everything under that banner
Who is next?

Re: Facilitator Post Training Discussion

Hi all, I'm beating the same drum that I've been on for a while, but I still don't think the 'tools' are introduced early enough in the FMIC and there's not enough opportunity to practice before the assessment.  I know some just 'click' with the BWS, DS and CF, but for others it's quite a struggle.  I know we are not just about budgets, but these are key tools that we use, and the direction we take with clients will hinge very strongly to the budget bottom line. That's not to take away from the awesome work that's been done by Linley, Nige, Mary-Ellen and others in putting the course and facilitation materials together, I think in many areas it is stronger, but not in this area. Just my thoughts . . .

Re: Facilitator Post Training Discussion

By way of a QA programme When I joined the Facilitator team all those years ago there was an intro progamme to attend before we were let loose. I wondered what had happened to the intro training for new Facilitators and also a refresher for us oldies? I realise that is usually done at the face to face training sessions but just wondered if this was  / should be part of the QA programme for facilitators. We were also appraised every other year or each year too so seeing is in the field to be sure. What do we think is needed?

Re: Facilitator Post Training Discussion

In response to Christina - yes maybe more exercises are needed? whether self directed / marked or more home work?

Re: Facilitator Post Training Discussion

Morena e hoa ma Thank you for all your comments. (Yes the platform doesn't seem to accept macrons.  :) ) We have been working on extra small case studies to add as optional practice, especially for the online course. Happy to have some help with that if anyone is keen. Nige and I will discuss the other points raised. Love your work Linley
